I’ve had the extraordinary opportunity to serve on the Banner Federal Credit Union (BFCU) for the 4 years. This amazing organization, founded by a group of forward-thinking Nurses in 1957, has continued in the mission of providing critical and appropriate banking services for the clinical community. Over time the vision these incredible nurses set forth has expanded to a broad range of banking services available to all in our community.  During my time with Banner FCU, we’ve successfully navigated the challenges of the pandemic, increasing inflation, increasing interest rates, and extraordinarily difficult technology and cybersecurity concerns. With the support of the BFCU Leadership team the Board’s mission remains clear, to provide the best banking services to our members possible ensuring appropriate safeguards and controls are measured, monitored, and reported.

Personally, I’ve had the distinct pleasure of supporting the amazing caregivers of Banner Health and Hanger Inc for more than 27 years. Most recently as the Chief Technology Officer for Hanger Inc, the largest prosthetics and orthotics care provider in the world and prior as the Vice President of Technology Operations at Banner Health.  My wife is a pediatric oncology nurse, and my eldest son is a clinical trials manager. Caring for our community is who we are as people, and I’ve committed my career to continuing this mission.  BFCU has a critical role in the wellbeing and health of our members. These services, available to all of us, help ensure the financial wellbeing of those we serve and support. The BFCU mission is directly coupled with my personal mission, caring for all.

I’m very proud to have been part of the BFCU Board of Directors and would so very much appreciate your support in continuing with this honor.

Mike Kalsek

It is an honor to be given the opportunity to sit on the Banner Federal Credit Union Board of Directors with so many other great members.  Prior to this amazing opportunity with Banner, I was the Controller for a joint venture agreement through Dignity where I oversaw a small 16 bed hospital as well as 10 free-standing emergency rooms across the valley.  My career has taken me down several paths.  I started working while I was in college as a bank teller back in Indiana.  Once I moved to Arizona in 2002, I started auditing and selling mortgage loans.  I had made the decision to switch gears and get into healthcare after 10 years in the banking industry.  I started in skilled nursing facilities and then worked my way into hospitals, then because a Chief Financial Officer over several different business lines that range from surgery centers/anesthesia companies over to real estate entities.  I am currently a Finance Director at Buena Vista Recovery where we work in detoxing and rehabilitating patients with additions.  I feel that with the mix of knowledge and skill that I have obtained over the years, I could bring value to the board as well as having the ability to absorb a great deal of knowledge from the current and future Directors.

Toni Elliot-Manuel

I am an accomplished Senior Director of Treasury with over two decades of experience at Banner Health and one decade of retail branch experience at JPMorgan Chase.  Holding dual master’s degrees in organizational management and business administration from the University of Phoenix, and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Arizona State University, I excel in managing enterprise investment and cash management functions, ensuring liquidity and financial goals are met. I have a proven track record in overseeing an investment portfolio exceeding $6 billion, and am a subject matter expert in cash management, merchant processing, and PCI compliance. I excel in managing high-stakes financial operations and leading diverse teams to success with a servant leadership approach. By prioritizing the professional growth and well-being of team members, I have cultivated a supportive and collaborative work environment that drives both individual and organizational excellence.  I feel my experience would benefit the Credit Union and its members, and I look forward to the opportunity of serving on the board of Banner Federal Credit Union.
